Established in 1998 and incorporated in 2001 our primary goals at NABHOOD are to: increase the number of African-Americans developing, managing, operating and owning hotels, increase vendor opportunities and executive level jobs for minorities, as well as create generational wealth within the African-American community. NABHOOD does this by providing education about hotel ownership, investment, supplier opportunities, employment and other valuable resources.
Our Annual International African American Hotel Ownership & Investment Summit & Trade Show is our best resource to help us accomplish this. NABHOOD’s signature event offers invigorating, fast-paced workshops on the hospitality industry, hotel ownership/investment prospects, industry supplier diversity updates and opportunities, the latest minority travel trends and one-of-a-kind networking opportunities.
Another NABHOOD signature event The ABC’s of Hotel Ownership is a comprehensive and intense introductory workshop for prospective, new and future hoteliers. Conducted throughout the year in various cities in conjunction with sponsoring hotel brands, these one-day sessions offer networking, mentorship and key principles regarding hotel ownership, investment, financing and development.
NABHOOD houses the largest African American Owned Hotel Directory in the world, as well as the oldest and largest resource center for African American students interested in careers in the hospitality industry. Each year top scholars across the globe compete to earn scholarship spots in the NABHOOD Hospitality Student Leadership Program.
